The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove

We walked with torches to honour the dead.

Last post ended up abit weird, talking about photography without using them. A buddy came to see me at the café, so I was distracted. Company was nice though :)

So, since last post I've been attending a nordic vikingmarket at Borre, Norway, which I mentioned earlier. It was great, our team got a great campsite for out tents and merch., and we had both sunny and shadowy days. Perfect. Getting up early for a 9 hour drive also went quite good. Tired faces everywhere, but we survived the ride, all (approx.) 23 of us. I stayed at Borre for three nights, me and two others returned on sunday. I'd had half a small bottle of whisky on saturday, wisely shared with a friend (haha), which resulted in a severe wave of depression the day after. I lay at the floor in the Oseberg-tent, resting my head on a spool of wollen thread, while Ceedaine patted my back in an attempt to comfort. Never before felt that way, it was somehow different from other depressions I've been through. I just wanted to cry myself to death, but I couldnt. But the sounds around me felt distorted aswell, and I felt extremely sick and lonely, even though I had people there. So something felt...different. I've experienced it once since then, actually just two days ago. Was in Riga, Latvia, and my mum was there, which helped abit. But its like a blockage of loneliness hiding me from the real world, which no comforting words can penetrate. Weird. I think it has to do with all the changes I've had to deal with lately. Granparents dead, dad leaving, beloved cat dead, extremely difficult breakup, unhappy parents, hard studies and a strange boss at work. So it will probably pass soon, since time heals nearly everything. It was a weekend full of forest, wine, mead, beer, whisky, cigarettes, bonfires, dance and folkmusic. Great!

Im at my mums place, yet again. We arrived last night, after driving for 10 hours from Oslo. Our plane from Latvia arrived Norway in the morning, and we had our car waiting at Gardemoen Airport. Our days in Riga were beautiful, though at times extremely hot. We got to see most of Old Riga, some Art Nouveau, some modern streets, some forest, some great view and a very pregnant and hungry cat. The day we found the cat, it was raining heavily, accompanied by thunder. I found quite an expensive health-food shop, bought some tuna, and went back into the rain to find the cat. For no use ofcourse. After having looked eveywhere for at least half an hour, I put the box of tuna on the ground, and asked a lady at a cose coffeeshop to call a taxi. We were both soaking wet, just hope the poor furry thing found its food. Lady at the café actually laughed at us when we entered, my hair was dripping and I must've looked kinda small when asking for a taxi. Not to mention this was in a snobby area of town. Ah, I really do recommend people to visit Riga, or some other town in the Baltic countries. So nice being there ^^

I got myself a new basket at the market,
for only 6 Ls.
One of Riga's many squares.

Tradition of newlyweds.
Before we went to Riga, we visited both Høvringen, which I've mentioned earlier, and Leksa, near Trondheim. We arrived Fjellbu, our cabin at Høvringen, 11 hours after leaving my mum's place. My dad welcomed us with coffee, he'd been cleaning abit for us since he lives nearby. Was nice seeing him again. Mum and I had a few calm days up there, before heading to Trondheim by train. We then went further by boat, all the way to Leksa. Leksa is an island with only 23 permanent inhabitants [http://www.leksa.no/about_leksa.htm], where my mum stayed for a year while working as a teacher for a small group of children, about 30 years ago. Ive heard her talking about this place forever, so it was nice finally seeing it. We stayed for the weekend, attend a BBQ, took some walks, patted some dogs, and took some photos. We went back to Høvringen afterwards, had about a week in Fjellbu before this Riga-holiday.
So Ive had some variasion during these three weeks :)

I will go back to Bergen tomorrow, by boat. Dont really want to, wanna stay here and relax after an exiting vacation. Haha. But I have to work :)
And Ni will come to Bergen on tuesday, she'll stay until sunday. Will be good seeing my friends again, just wish I could leave my mum without feeling she'll be lonely. My head is weird.

I need to sleep now, nighty. I'll try to add some more photos soon.

Btw.: title of this post is one of my fave songs by Dead Can Dance.

Slowkill.

Hi all.  It's been long. Too long, if I may say so myself. Today is my birthday. Beeing my birthday did not specifically make me wanna write here, it was more the doing of today's over-all good feeling. Ive had my alonetime, with coffee, food-shopping and good music at my favorite café. A good factor :) There are three good reasons why I haven't updated in a while; my computer was hospitalized due to broken keyboard, my internet is broken, and my external HD power adaptor is broken. I dont like to write here unless I have access to my photography, which is on my external HD o.O I've got my computer back, and I came to think of my photos stacked in Deviantart [http://dixo.deviantart.com/]. Thought I could use some of them :)

K, be back later.

Right, Im back ! Even though we've now approached the fine date of june 30th, Ill just update my post from the 24th. Im now at my mom's place, heading off to this nordic vikingmarket at Borrekaupangen tomorrow, with my friends from the Vikingclub. Looking forward to it, but Im nervous. Probably just afraid to forget important luggage and stuff. And we will be driving for 7 hours, and Im not yet sure where to sleep. Dont know when we'll leave either, just msgd my friend with questions. So we'll see :) I think all of you earthlings with a chance, should come and see us. Here's a link to the event: [http://borrevikinglag.com/]. Or, more specifically, a link to Borre's vikingclub. Only been a couple of weeks since Bukkøy's vikingfestival, which was great as always. Got to meet good people, and had a good time.

Allright, just got to know the time of departure. Gotta get up about 5. hah. hah. :O

I will return to Bergen after this trip, have to work a couple of days before I go back to mom, for then to leave for Høvringen, Gudbrandsdalen [http://www.hovringen.no/]. Beautiful place, we've got my great-grandfather's old cabin up there, looking forward to seeing it again :) Will also get to see my father again, which is nice. I miss him.

Oh, and I had to sell my car. My dear, green Volkswagen  Beetle '74. Will be greatly missed, eventhough I didnt get to drive it very much. Its bodywork was very rusty. Some Icelandic guy bought it for 3000NOK, cash :o He apparently works with cars, so I hope he manages to repair some of it. Get it in a decent shape for driving.

<3

I need to pack my bags. So long, suckers.

Percées de Lumiere.

Konnichiwa

I know, theres good mixture of languages here now.  But I just discovered a new band, while downloading an album by Les Discrets [http://www.last.fm/music/Les+Discrets]. When it was done downloading, I realized it was a split with Alcest [http://www.last.fm/music/Alcest], and the first song I heard was Percées de Lumiere, which means something similar to "breaking the light". Im having a chill day, with coffee and tv. Managed to get a 12hours sleep last night, without really having planned to.. Means I woke up 1:30pm, and my head's tired from oversleeping :p Guess I needed it though. Heading to meet a friend for more coffee soon. Last night was fun, went to celebrate a friends bday. Five friends with indian food, biological wine, whisky and cake, was nice ^^

Ugh, now the volcano starts worrying me. Hahha. Gonna catch a plane to London sunday, as Ive mentioned earlier, and now that the volcano's started errupting again, im getting nervous. According to plan, Ill be back in Norway the 20th, and my exams start the 25th. So we've got 5 days to get home, if we cant fly as planned. Hope it works out. Also hope my letters will be approved of, so that I dont have to send them all a second time. Stressfull. Baahh, I dont wanna take my exams, hate that kinda shit. But yeh, we all have to. Havent really been studying since high school, so its time I do this xD

On saturday I woke up with Geimgellan sleeping on my floor, next to my bed. Cute lady got abit too drunk on friday <3 haha. We went downtown, visited the Farmers Market, then went to Outland and got free comics (hail the free comicbook-day!). Afterwards we bought coffee, and went to sit in some park. City was crowded, people everywhere. Met another friend, and I spontanously decided to go with her up Fløien. Was nice, nature's really starting to wake up. Got to take some photos aswell, ofcourse. :) Have to start walking Fløien more often, feels really good. Was tired when I got home, which also felt nice after having been sick for a while. Now Ive gotta run, gah. Will add some more photos later :)

Ok, now's later. Had tea with a friend in Vågen's backyard, was nice. Gotta gather some people there and smoke shisha soon. Just made my waffel-omelette, now got tea and second series of Robin Hood ^^
And here are the photos I was talking about:

Farmers Market
Torgallmenningen, just another crowded saturday.
Some cute little city-tiger.

Haha, Fløi-troll. Tourists love this kinda stuff xD
Au, took me several hours to upload these, hahah. Stupid connection, netcom sucks. 3:40am, still got time to sleep. BBQ tomorrow, if weather allows ^^ OH! and last night I stumbled my way into this Tivoli. Was closed, and dark. Nice. Missed my camera o.O Wondering whether to go there and drink beer some evening after the opening hours, but afraid someone will ruin something or get us arrested. Its up for concideration anyway, would be fun.

Cheers, sleep tight.

Me, I'm Not.

Zzz..

Good morning fellow earthlings ^.^ My head's all fuzzy and everything goes in a blur today. Ended up quite spaced out last night, which I think was a good thing, cuz I got to rest my mind abit.
I feel kinda bad for my mental disappearance though, bahh. I actually got up 8:30am today and started writing, just taking a blog-break atm, while eating my apple to the pretty music of JJ n_n
Probably gonna need a heavy amount of good strong coffee soon. And arg! Im still coughing! Really annoying. The funny thing though; my doctor called me a couple of nights ago, told me she'd gotten my tests back, and that they didnt find pneumonia, but pertussis [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pertussis], which is something babies usually get. Yey! Hahah. Was talking to this guy yesterday, mentioned why I was coughing, talking about different conditions, when he joked about my next illness being colic. I could proudly say I got rushed to the hospital cuz of colic just a couple of years ago xD If this continues, Ill be a baby again in a few years.

Yesterday I actually sow some crass-seeds. Theyve started their growth process already, and they smell nice. Adding some photos here. Reminds me of my friend Ni, came to our apartment last spring, gave us a small pot with crass in it, was nice ^^ This girl inspires me more than she knows, thaha. Sorta miss her, along with other people who doesnt live here anymore. Oh well.
Today I have to finish my last two letters, soon done writing no.5, got no.6 to go. Upcoming exams make me nervous, glad Ive got London-plans soon, between now and then. Will be going with my mom, been long since we were there together. Have to get old memories outta my system, think this will be good for me. Looking forward to it, just hope everything will go as planned without the volcano interrupting again. n_n So good things are ahead, and my first year as an independant SINGLE lady is looking good. Hhah. Also get to keep my flat, as long as rent doesnt increase too much. Love this place, just long for a bigger stove, would be nice being able to make more than 6 crisp breads at a time.

Considering borrowing someone else's stove, but might look a bit weird -.-

Got to borrow a nice little laptop from a buddy a couple of days ago, finally found someone who had one to spare for a while. Feels nice being able to do my school-assignments on a real keyboard :) Will hopefully help me finish in time. Have to answer my american friend's letter soon too, think she'll appreciate that. Been long now, just havent had time for it. Should ofcourse buy a small clay-troll for her or something, but Im completely broke atm (next time Chell). I'll see what I can do to make it nice anyway.

Gotta get back to writing, then grab some beers with Geimgellan tonight ^.^

Cheers.

Mind Cluster.

O_o

It's been long. My keyboard said goodbye a few days ago. Inconvenient, nothing works as it shall anymore. Even formatting didn't do the trick, which means hope is lost. At the moment being, I'm using an old usb playstation-keyboard which my friend lent me. Gonna borrow a laptop from a buddy tomorrow, got my exams coming up, drives me nuts, don't have the self-discipline it takes to finish my letters. Really bothers me, been sitting here for several hours, haven't written more than about 20 words >.< Everything else just seem more interesting. And this thinking makes me want beer. Gonna meet a friend after studying tomorrow, we'll be making sushi, which is nice. And which I've actually been making quite alot lately ^.^

Ouh, this years Bergenfest was a great success! [www.bergenfest.no] I worked three shifts in infomationstalls, also got to help some of the artists, eat tons of chocolate and drink coffee. Was nice, with nice people and a good atmosphere. Got to see Ulver, Akron/Family, Lou Reed's Metal Machine, Don McLean, Fujiya & Miyagi, The Residents, Ultravox, Femi Kuti, abit of Warsaw Village Band, and Le Tambours du Bronx. Hah.

Sorta wondering who The Residents are, like everyone else. I helped them find their band-responsibles at the festival, wondering if I mightve talked to one from The Cryptic Corporation, since they send their little avatars when they need help, hah.

Le Tambours du Bronx

These french guys were fun to watch. Hung out in the lounge at the hotel, like all the others :)

Even though I only "worked" as a volunteer three seperate days, I had to call my doctor this morning to prolong my medical certificate o.O Not fun, but coughing havent stopped yet. Feel kinda guilty I havent just been sitting still on my bed all this time, trying to get well. But how is a person supposed to cope with that, eh? Im not used to being sick, & Ive got a small flat which I cant stay in for a long period of time, cuz it makes me feel like a total bum. Also signed up for Bergenfest a long time ago, and I didnt really have to do much work there. Quite nervous my doctor or my boss saw me in the newspaper cuz of volunteer-stuff too; might give the wrong impression. Hope my coughing will stop soon though, without more medication x_X

Ah, also got to see Mick Rock's exhibition at Galleri Garage![http://www.mickrock.com/] (Got free wine) ^.^  He started saying hi to me after a while, I was helping his exhibition by handing out flyers and stuff, think he found that funny. He really seemed like a down-to-earth guy. He shot pictures of people like Bob Marley, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Tori Amos, Syd Barrett and many others, including the great movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Took this photo at the exhibition. Was the "Rock'N'Roll Diaries". Man himself was there too.

 Now for something completely different;
Im starting to get really stressed out cuz of the vikingfestivals. Looking forward to them ofcourse, or it. Dont know whether Ill be able to go to Borre this year either, but it would be really cool. Im in need of a new dress, which my mom's got the materials for in her house. Just need to buy a pattern and send it to her, so she'll know about what to do. She's good at sewing. I really wanted to do it myself though, but I clearly dont have time for that -.- Also need a couple of other things, like soles on my old shoes, wool for my weave, and a woolendress. Aaaand a cape. Also got materials for that at her place, where the sewingmachine is also hiding.
Everyone who's got interest in our old norse culture and vikings should definitely try to show up at the vikingfestival at Bukkøy, Karmøy. [http://vikingfestivalen.no/] :)

Ery-Max.

 Hoi.

Second time in just a couple of weeks, bwah.
I went to the doctor today, got robbed & tapped for approx. 10ml of blood. They gave me penicillin, Ery-Max, which Ill be taking for 10 days from now. She believes it to be a hidden form for pneumonia. Hah, hope it works, sick and tired of coughing. Took a stroll over to Scorpius yesterday, to check on the openinghours [missed it ofcourse], but when I turned to head back to centrum I got this terrible cough, which made my eyes water & my feet stumble. People must've believed me to be some unsteady junkie, which might be understandable, coming from Scorpius and all. Went back today though, got my henna :) Gonna get my hair all muddy again tomorrow after work, yey.

Got work on saturday, which isnt much fun. Collegue needs day off, cuz of exams, so atleast Ill be doing a good favour to someone. Bloodline at Inside tomorrow [http://bloodline-industries.blogspot.com/], but work starts at 10am on saturday, so I should be fine ;p Just a tiny bit worried about my illness, since I dont have the brains to stay home sometimes. Not even shure stayin' in would help me, since I usually dont get cold when Im out, and reaally cant stay in for an equal amount of time it takes to get rid of an pneumonia. [sun is here!]

Just heard thunder though! Aah, gorgeous thunder! I love it, love the feeling of thunder. Warm air meets cold air, nature against nature, damn powerful <3 Think it was hailing too though, which isnt just as fun. But I stayed in with my SUSHI, listening through the open window. These pictures are taken at my mom's place, for your information. I love these tiny goslings, theyre so full of life, and so soft to touch. Us people should learn from nature, ignorant assholes, not break it down.

Found this tiny tiny black spider [right] while on my knees looking at moss. Happy I managed to focus on him, he was extremely small. I was sick here aswell btw, mom dragged me along with her to this beach during easter. She'd wanted to go there for many years actually [small beach quite a long drive from where she lives], so finally made it happen. Didnt do much good to my throat though, couldnt breath in the car afterwards, and she felt really guilty xD Think it passed though.

Oh, I made some new discoveries in the world of music tonight. I believe it started with Andrew Thomas Huang [http://www.andrewthomashuang.com/index.html], while looking at his videos on this site I just linked.
I started thinking electronics,
which reminded me of sites like this

Time to sleep and dream, somewhere not of this world.

Good night.
