The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove

We walked with torches to honour the dead.

Last post ended up abit weird, talking about photography without using them. A buddy came to see me at the café, so I was distracted. Company was nice though :)

So, since last post I've been attending a nordic vikingmarket at Borre, Norway, which I mentioned earlier. It was great, our team got a great campsite for out tents and merch., and we had both sunny and shadowy days. Perfect. Getting up early for a 9 hour drive also went quite good. Tired faces everywhere, but we survived the ride, all (approx.) 23 of us. I stayed at Borre for three nights, me and two others returned on sunday. I'd had half a small bottle of whisky on saturday, wisely shared with a friend (haha), which resulted in a severe wave of depression the day after. I lay at the floor in the Oseberg-tent, resting my head on a spool of wollen thread, while Ceedaine patted my back in an attempt to comfort. Never before felt that way, it was somehow different from other depressions I've been through. I just wanted to cry myself to death, but I couldnt. But the sounds around me felt distorted aswell, and I felt extremely sick and lonely, even though I had people there. So something felt...different. I've experienced it once since then, actually just two days ago. Was in Riga, Latvia, and my mum was there, which helped abit. But its like a blockage of loneliness hiding me from the real world, which no comforting words can penetrate. Weird. I think it has to do with all the changes I've had to deal with lately. Granparents dead, dad leaving, beloved cat dead, extremely difficult breakup, unhappy parents, hard studies and a strange boss at work. So it will probably pass soon, since time heals nearly everything. It was a weekend full of forest, wine, mead, beer, whisky, cigarettes, bonfires, dance and folkmusic. Great!

Im at my mums place, yet again. We arrived last night, after driving for 10 hours from Oslo. Our plane from Latvia arrived Norway in the morning, and we had our car waiting at Gardemoen Airport. Our days in Riga were beautiful, though at times extremely hot. We got to see most of Old Riga, some Art Nouveau, some modern streets, some forest, some great view and a very pregnant and hungry cat. The day we found the cat, it was raining heavily, accompanied by thunder. I found quite an expensive health-food shop, bought some tuna, and went back into the rain to find the cat. For no use ofcourse. After having looked eveywhere for at least half an hour, I put the box of tuna on the ground, and asked a lady at a cose coffeeshop to call a taxi. We were both soaking wet, just hope the poor furry thing found its food. Lady at the café actually laughed at us when we entered, my hair was dripping and I must've looked kinda small when asking for a taxi. Not to mention this was in a snobby area of town. Ah, I really do recommend people to visit Riga, or some other town in the Baltic countries. So nice being there ^^

I got myself a new basket at the market,
for only 6 Ls.

Tradition of newlyweds.
Before we went to Riga, we visited both Høvringen, which I've mentioned earlier, and Leksa, near Trondheim. We arrived Fjellbu, our cabin at Høvringen, 11 hours after leaving my mum's place. My dad welcomed us with coffee, he'd been cleaning abit for us since he lives nearby. Was nice seeing him again. Mum and I had a few calm days up there, before heading to Trondheim by train. We then went further by boat, all the way to Leksa. Leksa is an island with only 23 permanent inhabitants [http://www.leksa.no/about_leksa.htm], where my mum stayed for a year while working as a teacher for a small group of children, about 30 years ago. Ive heard her talking about this place forever, so it was nice finally seeing it. We stayed for the weekend, attend a BBQ, took some walks, patted some dogs, and took some photos. We went back to Høvringen afterwards, had about a week in Fjellbu before this Riga-holiday.
So Ive had some variasion during these three weeks :)

I will go back to Bergen tomorrow, by boat. Dont really want to, wanna stay here and relax after an exiting vacation. Haha. But I have to work :)
And Ni will come to Bergen on tuesday, she'll stay until sunday. Will be good seeing my friends again, just wish I could leave my mum without feeling she'll be lonely. My head is weird.

I need to sleep now, nighty. I'll try to add some more photos soon.

Btw.: title of this post is one of my fave songs by Dead Can Dance.
