First day, new world.

Good evening people.

I can see I've been absent for too long, probably without anyone really noticing. But still, here's my first post of year 2011. Happy new year everyone, I wish you all the best for the new year to come!

As usual, when adding posts, I'm at my mum's place. She's got a really good internet, and since my computer ceased to exist about a week ago (third time already -.-), I'm also finding her computer rather useful. I've been here for about a week and a half, will be heading back to Bergen tomorrow.

This christmas has been quite amazing actually. Way past what I'd expected ;) Have now been with my boyfriend for about two months, and we've spent much time together during the holidays. Some at his place, some at my mum's. We also attended a yule blot at Landa, which was nice. Got to dress up as pretty vikings again, with mead & everything that follows (ofcourse also followed by a caugh & heavy tiredness).

It was fun. Good people, nice food, lots of various stuff to drink! And ofcourse, I got to spend more time with my dear one. I can't say that I'm looking forward to going back to work. There's been some trouble, because some people aren't doing they're job properly. There might just be me that there's something wrong with, but according to my colleagues, the problems are really being caused by someone at a higher level. So I guess we'll just see what happens after the holidays. It would be great to get a job at the music department in the city. Enough about that, since I have absolutely no idea about what's going to happen.

And now for something completely different! Im really starting to looking forward to next summer, with vikingmarkets and other events throughout the summer. Just curious about what oppertunities I'll have, considering work and school. I need new clothes though, I'll be working on it through the winter/spring. We're going to order woolen fabrics from this site [www.tekstil.no]. I've also started to fight, vikingstyle. Just started to feel comfy with my sword, which I'll show you in a photo sometime later, and have also learnt quite alot of fighting with knives and axes. Started practising with a re-enactment group called Kongshirden 1260, who base themself on the middleages, a.d 1260 (+-). This group isn't quite ideal to me, considering my occupation in homebased viking-age studies, but the people are nice, and they teach me stuff. Also met my boyfriend there, and ofcourse we hooked up as the two people in the medieval group who was commited to vikings, not middleages. ;) Hehe. I have to plan this summer quite thoroughly, so I won't miss out on anything. So much to do, so many places to go, and so little time & money to do so! Arg! I've also got other plans for the summer, which I'll reveal to you at a later point, when getting closer. Picture to the right is just a little hint :)

During jol, we took a walk at the vikingfarm at Bukkøy, sillying around in the snow. Here are some pictures:

And various winter- and forest photos:

Some lurking wooden-creature.

Bubbles beneath the ice.

This took me a while, bad camera. But I managed to do what I wanted at last.

So long.
