Into the Forest

 Good evening

View from our balcony.

Finally learned how to make fishbone-braids! :D Bad photo, hard getting the focus right without anywhere to put the camera for using the self-timer. And it's my very first french-braided fishbone-braid, so it's not very good, but still! And since my hair is so damn sleek and slippery, strands just start slipping out after just a five-minutes time.

Been alone here since easter now, which is about a week. Feels much longer. Mood's been strange and changing, had my ups and downs during the last couple of days. Probably had too much to think about, and decisions to be made. Did I mention we've been offered to buy the house after Rein's parents? They're gonna build a new house someplace near. And I've been applying for different schools! All kinds really. Deadline last night, excited. Applied many places; Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim and Bergen. I can change the priorities of my choices till the 1st of July.

This was my food today! So full, was really nice. Planned on cooking something simple after work, but ended up spending alot of time on this.

Rein will probably be home tomorrow or on wednesday! :D Looking forward to it!

I went for a walk in the forest yesterday, even did some meditating amongst the trees, just me and them.

Will add some more photos soon. Nighty.

Stupid video! Help?

Any germans in here who'd like a translating-task? ;p Got this video, and I know it exists with english commentary (saw it last night on viasat history norway), but I just can't find it. Only in german. And I can't figure out how to translate it. There's no cc-button either -.- So if anyone reads this and wants to help, I'd be so glad ^^

Easter holidays!

Happy holidays! I'm at mum's now, left Bergen yesterday. The agency didn't call me, so I just decided to take a little vacation ;) Haven't done anything today (yet), except from eating this tasty breakfast with fresh herbs (some are actually from mum's garden), photographing it and posting it here ;p Useful. There's actually a blue sky today, and the sun struggles to smelt away the leftovers after yesterday's snow. The weather's been absolutely wicked during the last couple of days! With snow, hail, rain, sun and wind. As strange as it gets. So during March we had 20 degrees celsius and sunshine, and once the months turn to April, the snow and cold comes back.. Hopefully todays sun is the start of the REAL spring. Feel sorry for all the sprouts and birds.

In Norway, the celebration of Easter usually just involves daffodils, eggs, chocolate, chickens, sprouts, walks in the mountains & skiing. As we all know though, the Easter symbolises Jesus, and how he supposedly died on the cross for the salvation of humanity. To me, as a non-christian, Easter is just about spring (in addition to the chocolate) ;) I do believe there once was a man named Jesus, who did marvellous things. Maybe even an illusionist or a mage. But I don't see him as the christians see him.  Still, I pay my respect during both christmas and easter, to all who suffered. Crosses or not. If there was a guy named Jesus, I feel sorry for him if he suffered. But no less do I feel for the others. Actually, when I googled the word "easter", I got two options; "easter" or "christian easter". We're weak for traditions.
I celebrate a new beginning; nature and life.

These are my mountains; Høvringen, Rondane, Norway. We could almost say I grew up there. I was born in Lillehammer, which is only two hours away, and we have a family-cabin there, a hundred years old. We used to go here for our Easter-holidays when I was a child. Memories. You can see it in the background here;

This one's really old, but it was the best I could find atm. Got other photos on my extern drive, which lies in Bergen..

Spider Monkey

Good evening! Adding some photos from Kanadaskogen, near our house. Taken last sunday.

I'm alone in Bergen now, and have been so for almost a week. Been seeing friends, and been working everyday except monday. I'll probably be working the first two days this coming week, and then I'll be going to see mum and Rein <3

The Spider Poem

Spiders are not insects

Spiders have eight legs.

Spiders have four pairs of eyes

Spiders hatch from eggs!

Spider webs are stick

Spiders weave them tight

Spiders spin that silky string

Spiders weave webs right!

Spider, Spider

Spider hurrying,

Spider scurrying,

See her silken thread.

Spider hurrying,

Spider scurrying,

See her little web.

Spider Webs

The spider weaves a sticky web

To capture bugs to eat.

What keeps the spider's sticky web

From sticking to her feet?

Spider webs are very tricky

Because not all the strands are sticky.

Unlike the passing hapless fly,

The spider knows which strands are dry.

But if she accidentally stands

Upon one of the sticky strands,

She still would not get stuck, you see--

Her oily body slides off free.

So beautiful, with raindrops on it's legs.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout.

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.

So the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.

A Taste of Summer

Nasjonalromantikk

Finally! Sunshine! Out on the balcony atm, had some leftover pizza (homemade ofcourse) for lunch. Will be going to Andunge for waffles later on, and bring Rein. He's going back to Ålgård tomorrow to work, won't see him until easter. And then we'll see what happens. :) Times are changing, and anything might happen. Maybe we'll be moving, maybe we won't. Depends on what the spring brings us, and it depends on which studies I choose. Been thinking about continueing my library-studies. My heart and soul will stay in Bergen. My body might go somewhere else for a while. I'll probably change my mind and re-collect my spiritual self when/if I've been living there for a while. We'll manage. <3

Things to do while by myself:

  • Make collages of old horror-magazines and old analog photographs.
  • Sew new clothes for markets.
  • Draw.
  • Plan new fighting-gear (gloves, arm bracers, helmet, new sword & one-handed spear).
  • Try to get my photos sent over to this calendar-bureau.
  • Have friends over for crafts, food and wine.
  • Meet people I haven't seen in a while.
  • Try to fix cheap equipment for finishing my old linoleum-project.

A glimpse of the sun.

Spring is finally here! And I should be glad! But, I'll be going back to Bergen to work tomorrow or on Monday (haven't made up my mind yet). At mum's atm, trying to get well. I've been sick for a week and a half, and I started a new antibiotics-cure on Thursday. Can't really feel any progress yet, starting to worry. Got work on Tuesday (I've gotten a new job-assignment every Tuesday & Thursday in March), and I really need to be there! Not looking forward to it, but I can't call in sick anymore. Hopefully the medicine will start working soon. I don't really feel sick though, just my sinuses and my throat.

The horrible (yet somewhat cozy) fact is that I've gotten too attached to Rein! I'll be going back alone (he's at his parents place, working), and I have to go to sleep alone, and somehow get up in the morning aswell. Not used to it, considering that he's always the first one to get up and put on coffee. My motivator won't be there to help. I guess I should've gotten used to this (I did actually live by myself before we met), but na-ah. Arg, too easy to feel sorry for oneself, really need to stop doing this ;)

I finally dyed my hair today, just in time for not turning blond again :) And it's been nice and sunny, so we've gotten to enjoy the sun quite a bit. Went for a nice walk yesterday aswell. Today we went to Haugesund, where I finally bought some of the dietary supplements needed to cover my need for omega 3. Being a vegetarian means I sometime get urges for new supplements, especially when feeling sick. I bought flaxseed-oil and Floradix.

We'll be going to Landa (near Stavanger) for a training-weekend this coming Friday! So I won't have to stay in Bergen for very long ;) Will be nice, looking forward to it. Haven't been training since Vinter, since I've been sick all the time. Hoping for nice weather ^^

Sleep now. And spring is here! I'll to try to update more often.

Whisky & a cold

Sick again!

Getting tired of this :p Getting all the viruses carried around by the kids, my immune-system needs to toughen up a bit soon, or I'll go mad. Strange part is, I was only working with kids on thursday. I probably get stuff from the sick people in home care aswell. So the photo pretty much illustrates what I've been doing today! Expect from the bottles, those were in use last night ;) Had four friends over for soup and handcrafts, was nice. Lucky I woke up sick today, rather that than having my friday night ruined. ;)

Counting on getting well before monday, need to work everyday if Im to get some cash. Been searching the net for jobs every day, but I'm starting to think that I'm not yet ready for a steady job. Feels quite nice being able to choose my weeks this freely, which also means I'll get to attend whichever markets I want this summer! Ok, probably a bad way of thinking, considering I won't earn anything if I take so much time off, but I'm gonna try to earn enough for food by selling my products, and I'm constantly looking for other ways to get earnings. I'll be working alot this spring too, and try to get used to driving. That way it'll be easier for me working with home care aswell, so I don't have to be nervous every time I'm going to work. I've also gotten this nice & warm thermosuit to wear in the kindergarten, which is nice! I'm nearly more exited to go outside than the  kids are.

I wish I could go to practice today, but instead I had to stay on the sofa, watching Rein go. Atleast one of us came ;) First time in a long while we were planning on going, and I got sick. Hah... But the training-weekend at Vinter is coming right up! This video was shot last year:

Our new helmet-pieces arrived today! A new helmet will be GREAT! Mine's way too big, haha. Just look at it, makes me look like a huge headed super-noob.

Right now we're watching a random James Bond-movie, and enjoying a Balvenie 12 y.o. Good medicine.

Im going back to school btw, but maybe I said so earlier. REAL school, no more internet-studies ;p At the University in Bergen, starting next autumn. I'm not quite sure which courses to apply for yet, but I'm getting there ;) Norse philology will probably be one of my choices, but I've also been thinking about architect-school and other well-paid paths. Depends on the criterias and stuff. Looking forward to it though, eventho it's abit scary aswell.
